Peanut butter chocolate chip cookies are so soft and gooey. They are sinfully delicious.

When I make these peanut butter cookies, they don't last long. Everyone loves them. They are the perfect afternoon treat.

They are the perfect afternoon treat.You can always add some Reese's pieces along with the chocolate chips to give them some color. Or add some of your favorite nut pieces or maybe some raisins.

There are ingredients you can add to these cookies but they are best with just the chocolate chips.

Preparation:

    Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

    You will need a large mixing bowl, a one cup plus a 3/4 cup plus a 1/2 cup, plus a 1/4 cup measuring cup, a 1/2 plus a 1/4 teaspoon, a fork, cookie sheets, a wire rack for cooling and an electric mixer.

Gather Your Ingredients:

Make sure you have everything before you begin.

  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp. Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Creating Your Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies Masterpiece:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, shortening, peanut butter, sugar and eggs with electric mixer until well blended.
  2. Stir together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; add to butter mixture and beat until well combined.
  3. And then fold in your chocolate chips, mixing well.

  4. Shape into 1 inch balls using the palm of your hands and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. With fork dipped in sugar, flatten in criss-cross pattern. (the sugar will stop the dough from sticking to the fork, and it adds a nice touch to the cookies)
  6. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes and cool slightly before moving them to a wire rack.

This recipe will make about 4 dozen cookies.They should be stored in an air tight container and will last a couple weeks.

You may have to double this recipe because they will be gone in no time. Your family will gobble them up as soon as they are done baking!
