Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake

This chocolate peanut butter cheesecake is so rich and creamy it will melt in your mouth.

I had an old recipe for a no bake cheesecake so I thought I would adapt it to include peanut butter and chocolate and I'm glad I did. It really turned out heavenly.

Well, it actually turned out to be 2 no bake cheesecakes. By the time I added the peanut butter to everything else there was enough for 2, which worked out great. I wanted to try a new crust with Oreo crumbs and peanut butter instead of using butter with the crumbs.

But when I started making the first crust I didn't have enough Oreo crumbs so I mixed them with graham cracker crumbs, which ended up turning out great with the peanut butter.

Here is the crusts I used. You can use 2 ready made crusts if you prefer or halve the recipe to make just 1 peanut butter cheesecake.

You will need a large mixing bowl, electric mixer, rubber spatula,  8 inch round pie plate

Gather Your Ingredients:

Make sure you have everything before you begin.

Peanut Butter Crusts 1

  • 1 1/4 cups Oreo or graham cracker crumbs (I mixed half and half)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter, melted

Cream together and press in 8 inch pie pan.

This crust would look really good using a springform pan. You would be able to see the marble effect of both crumbs mixed together and it would impress your guests.

Peanut Butter Crust 2

  • 1 Ready made graham cracker crust
  • Brush the crust with melted peanut butter (I used the left over melted peanut butter to drizzle on top of the cheesecake)

Set crusts aside

Cheesecake Filling

  • 1 cup peanut butter chips
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 pkg. (8oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 2 cups frozen non-dairy whipped topping

Creating Your Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake Masterpiece:

  1. In a small microwavable bowl, melt chocolate and peanut butter chips on high in 30 second intervals until melted and mixture is smooth. Set aside to cool.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar and peanut butter until creamy then blend in melted chocolate mixture.
  3. Fold in whipped topping until blended and then divide the mixture into 2 equal halves and spoon into each crust.
  4. Refrigerate both cheesecakes until they are firm.

You can garnish with whatever you like, just make sure to cover and refrigerate them when you are done.

This is how I garnished my No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecakes

I melted some chocolate chips and drizzled it on top of the first cheesecake. You could also spread the chocolate on top of the cheesecake instead of drizzling it on. I also drizzles chocolate syrup on top of the first one for an extra chocolatey taste.

Then I used the left over melted peanut butter that I brushed the crust with and mixed it with some peanut butter chips so I had enough to drizzle on top of the second cheesecakes.

They both turned out fantastic.

If you decide to make only one no bake chocolate peanut butter cheesecake, the first one is more chocolatey, while the second one is more peanut buttery. You can decide which one you prefer to make.
