Monster Peanut Butter Cookies

by Tina

Here's a peanut butter cookie recipe that will be fun for the kids to enjoy. They have a little bit of everything in them.

These would be great for a birthday party when there are a lot of kids present, or even for a family reunion.

My kids always love it when I make these treats for them. I bet your kids would too.

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups peanut butter
4 1/2 cups quick cooking oats, mixed with 2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup multicolored sugar coated chocolate candies (smarties or M&M's)
1 cup raisins
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 cup walnuts, pecans, or peanuts

Beat butter and sugars in large bowl with electric mixer until pale and fluffy.

Beat in eggs, vanilla, and peanut butter till well blended.

Stir in oat mixture till stiff dough forms.

Stir in candies, raisins, chocolate and nuts.

Shape into 1 inch balls and place 3 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.

Flatten to a 2 inch diameter and bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
